HURRICANE RELIEF - AFL-CIO CONTRIBUTION OPTIONS
Updated On: Oct 04, 2017

AFL-CIO CONTRIBUTION OPTIONS

The AFL-CIO has a charitable 501(c)(3) organization called the Union Community Fund (UCF).  The UCF is accepting donations for hurricane relief work in these areas for both short term and for long term recovery efforts. Checks should be made payable to the Union Community Fund, 815 16th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20006.  The Texas and Florida State Federations have activated their own relief funds and are accepting donations. Until they are able to process donations, the UCF will accept donations for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.   The AFL-CIO is also in the process of putting the UCF on line to accept credit card contributions.

Checks made payable to the Texas Workers Relief Fund can be sent to the Texas AFL-CIO at 1106 Lavaca St, Suite 200, Austin, TX 78701.  This fund is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  For more information, contact Texas AFL-CIO President John Patrick (john@texasaflcio.org) or President Rick Levy (rick@texasaflcio.org; 512-477-6195).

Florida Workers Relief Fund          www.flworkersfund.org

Checks made payable to the Florida AFL-CIO can be sent to 135 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32301. This fund is designed to provide direct assistance to members and their families and contributions are not tax deductible. For more information contact Florida AFL-CIO President Mike Williams at 850-556-2966 or Secretary-Treasurer Andrew Spar at 386-295-9450.

Puerto Rico Relief

Puerto Rico is currently struggling to regain communications and essentials, and electronic banking is not yet reliable. We are working hand in glove on the ground with State Federation President Rodriguez.  Funds to assist Puerto Rico working families may be issued in the form of checks made out to the AFL-CIO’s 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Union Community Fund, 815 16th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20006.  Your donation can be tagged specifically for Puerto Rico if you so choose.

U.S. Virgin Islands Relief

We are working hand in glove on the ground with CLC President Avery Lewis.  Funds to assist the U.S. Virgin Islands’ working families may be issued in the form of checks made out to the AFL-CIO’s 501(c)(3) charitable organization, the Union Community Fund, 815 16th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20006. Your donation can be tagged specifically for the U.S. Virgin Islands if you so choose.
